Introducing
Mr. & Mrs. Ransom Miller, III

Ransom Miller, III is a 29 year old Manager in the Mortgage and Asset Finance Group of KPMG, LLP. His major clients are Fannie Mae and PNC Bank. He currently resides in Washington, DC.

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was reared in the Bethlehem Star Baptist Church. There, he learned Christian values and the value of Charity and Community Service. He graduated from Millwood High School in 1988, and received his Bachelor Degree cum laude from Howard University in 1992. While at Howard, Mr. Miller excelled as a student athlete, being named to the GTE Academic All-American, Sheridan All-American Football, and All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Football Teams. He was also a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and the Alpha Epsilon Rho Honor Society.

Mr. Miller is the founder and chairman of Project GiveBack, a National Community Service Organization, whose mission is to provide a vehicle for Corporate Firms and young professionals to give back to the communities in which they work and live. This is accomplished by the coordination of programs that benefit less fortunate individuals and families with a focus on children. The major program of this Organization is the annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution, in which the organization provides food baskets and clothing to low income families. Since 1995 Project GiveBack distributed over 275 food baskets across the United States. Project GiveBack Corporate Sponsors include, the National Association of Black Accountants, KPMG, LLP, Thompson, Cobb, Bazilio and Associates, PC, Reebok, Washington Relocators Moving and Storage and the Alpha Omega Social Action and Scholarship Foundation. Other programs coordinated by Project GiveBack include, The Children's Toy Drive which provides toys for children in low income families, The Computer Sponsor Program which assists schools and community organizations in the acquisition of Computer Hardware and Software, and the Easter Egg Hunt, which exposes children to the Christian meaning of Easter while providing a safe and fun activity for the children.

In other community service efforts, Ransom in conjunction with Bethlehem Star Baptist Church has established a college scholarship for graduation high school seniors in Oklahoma City. The Ransom Miller, III Scholarship Fund has awarded eight $1,000.00 scholarships in the past four years.

Ransom is the Chairman of the 1998 KPMG's African American History Month Lecture Series, which included lectures from National Urban League President Maudine Cooper, United Negro College Fund CEO/President William Grey, III and Historian William Layton. Mr. Miller also serves as the 1998 Greater Washington Area UNCF Corporate Dress Down Day Chairman. As Chairman of this event, he and a dedicated team of KPMG employees coordinated this fundraising event in which 15 other local firms participated. In 1999, guest speakers included Washington, DC Mayor Anthony Williams, Rev. H. Beecher Hicks and Washington, DC Director of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs Lloyd Jordan.

Miller is a member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Northwest Washington, DC. Ransom is also an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Omega Chapter. He is a member of the Executive, Social, and Social Action Committees. He has served as the Chapter Reporter and currently serves as Chapter Webmaster. He has chaired several sub-committees including the Annual Boatride Committee. Ransom is an active member of the National Association of Black Accountants.

On March 3, 2000, the Florida Avenue Baptist Church in NW Washington, DC, honored Miller for his dedicated service to the Community. In 1999, Ransom was honored as one of Washington’s Finest Professionals by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Also in 1999, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Washington, DC Chapters, named him Citizen of the Year. In 1998, Miller was recognized as the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Outstanding Member. In 1997, he was recognized by KPMG, LLP for his outstanding work in the community.
