Introducing
Mr.
& Mrs. Ransom Miller, III
Mrs. HarDisha L. Miller was born to Harold and Sharon Burgess on May 23, 1972. She was reared in Chandler, Oklahoma, a small town between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. As a young woman she excelled in sports, playing basketball and running track. In high school she was the captain of the women's basketball team. Motivated by the lure of wearing an blue and yellow Oklahoma Coaches Association All State Jacket, she concentrated her efforts on track. She became one of the best sprinters in the State of Oklahoma winning the gold medal at the 1990 State Track Meet in the 100 yard dash. After her decorated high school career in track and basketball, she decided to further her education at Northern Oklahoma Junior College where she received a full athletic scholarship. After two years of basketball and obtaining an associate degree in engineering, she enrolled at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma. Charged with a passion for children and a unique interest in the research she majored in Biology. During her tenure at ORU, HarDisha served years as team captain of the women's basketball team and dorm leader.
After graduation she moved to Washington, DC where she worked at the American Society for Microbiologists. After much consideration she decided to refocus her career path. She accepted a position in the Washington DC Public School System as a teacher. She is currently a 4th grade teacher at Scott Montgomery Elementary in N.W. Washington DC.
In the community, HarDisha has served as the Vice Chairperson of Project GiveBack, a national community service organization founded by her husband Ransom Miller, III. She is responsible for the coordination of the Children's Toy Distribution which focuses on providing toys to underprivileged children. She also plays a key role in the coordination of the Annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution.
